It's almost here! We're currently 3 days away from the big 3-0 (30 weeks that is). I'm officially over the "honeymoon" part of my pregnancy, and though there was never really a time that I felt great, I would say, as the days progress, things are - as so many mothers have been telling me - only getting worse. I'm not miserable or anything, just incredibly uncomfortable.
As the weeks fly by and our busy life swirls around us, I've come to realize that I'm not a great blogger. (Though I did put the disclaimer into the first post, so really, no one should be surprised.) The past few weeks have witnessed a lot of things - some even documented with the fancy little camera Ev got me for Christmas - so I've decided to do a quick recap of those things. (As I went through my pictures to post today, I also found a few older events that I felt needed to be added.)
12/4/08 For their grandma's birthday (my mom), the boys put on their party hats and sang grandma a song. They danced too, but that was less evident at their size (which was accurate in the picture, by the way). If you're wondering who's who, they wore labeled shirts.
1/24/09 My sister-in-law Cara and my aunt co-conspired to throw a surprise diaper shower for me at the Olive Garden in Salem...It was a little last minute as far as invitations go, but there was at least 20 people there. I was VERY surprised. I still don't know how my mom didn't let that slip...I really should give her more credit! Here's a pic of all the diapers people brought...we ended up with more than 3000 of various sizes! That's not including the 3 Costco size boxes of wipes (1000 each)! Cara also made an adorable Diaper Cake that held about 50 diapers rolled up inside (and no, we didn't eat it.) The edges are made of receiving blankets and onesies, and the middle was held together with bottles! It was so cute! 2/28/09 Cara (the very versatile and helpful girl that she is) and my mom decided that we needed a day of "decluttering" to find the nursery (since it was an office up until this day). Afterward, the office and the guest bedroom became one. Here is the bedroom/office about half way through.
There was a lot accomplished, but Evan was a little overwhelmed with all the women swirling about. Toward the end of the day, I found him hiding under the desk that he had dismantled, carried downstairs and put together again earlier. 3/7/09 My first baby shower, hosted by my wonderful sister-in-law Emily in Medford, was a hit. BJ, Ev's mom, had a waffle cone sunday bar, which is never bad. One game, pictured below, involved everyone cutting off a length of string they thought would fit around my belly. Thankfully, most over guessed! Though, if we held on to the string, I think by the time these boys come out, all the string tied together may be just right to wrap around me! Hopefully not...
Well, that's about it up for today! Hope you enjoy!
